Dave grew up on the shores of Wall lake and began carving decoys, in his words, "Out of necessity." Dave is a third generation carver to which he credits his father, NFDA legend T.O.G. "The Old Guy" David H. Beighley for getting him and his brother Chris into carving fish. Dave began competing at the Perham Gathering Decoy Show in the early 2000's. Immediately he had Major success winning countless awards throughout multiple disciplines including airbrush categories, hand paint categories, open paint, jig stick categories and many many more!
